Hi, I’m Mirela!
Welcome to my page!
As a person who grew up in a family of artists, I have always had curiosity for the beauty of art and the world around me. During my high school years, painting and drawing naturally became my favourite ways of expression.
In 2015 I graduated from “St. Cyril and St. Methodius” University in Veliko Turnovo, Bulgaria as a Bachelor in Pedagogy of the Education in Fine Arts. In 2017 I earned my Master’s degree in Modern and Contemporary Art History from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria. During that time, I developed a strong interest in photography and gradually I discovered a language in which I could express my thoughts, feelings and ideas in the best possible way.
In 2017, my passion for photography led me to Cracow School of Art and Fashion Design, Poland, where I advanced my skills in visual storytelling, reportage and street photography. In June 2019 I finished my staged photographic project ‘SOUNDSCAPES’ as a part of my diploma defense.
I am currently based in Sofia, Bulgaria, but I really like to be on the road. I love photographing people – I’m fascinated by their unconscious charm, their gestures and the environment they inhabit. For me, the camera is only a tool through which I preserve the beauty of what my eyes have already recognized.
